Invest in your business

I've been in the wedding industry close to three years now. I knew early, the 9-5 and corporate ladder was not for me. I have typically reached my goals quicker or more non-traditionally than others. It may be easier to, but I believe there isn't only one way to do things. Graduating college, starting a business, and getting married all before my twenties, may shed a little light on what I'm meaning.   I have my degree in Business Administration.  I thought about going for Photography... Though, I wanted to know how to run a successful business and not just how to take pictures. Yes, knowing your camera is important. However, I spent close to a year shadowing/second shooting to learn hands on with real life scenarios. Like lighting, helping direct people, the flow of sessions/weddings, and communication. 

 What I've also learned, is there is someone who is always going to be able to charge more, have been photographing longer, have a larger following or are "more" experienced. Let's be real, photography is a saturated market. You may ask yourself, "how am I supposed to start? Where am I supposed to start? Should I even pursue this, what if no one wants to book me?"

When you're establishing your business, it's about your why.  So instead of asking yourself the negative, "how am I supposed to start? Where am I supposed to start? Should I even pursue this, what if no one wants to book me?"

Ask yourself the positive like...  Why am I wanting to be a photographer? What makes me unique and set apart from another photographer in my area? How can I out serve others, with my clients experience being a top priority? 

 These are just some of the ways I personally was able to keep a positive attitude when growing my clientele, now I want to help you!

 Photography is a passion of mine, I love creating something that didn't exist before. This year I have tried to pay attention to my couples stories and visions, documenting what they value and find joy in!
